Your Wedding at All Saints

The vows you make are to love and cherish each other for the rest of your lives. Church is the best place to make such an important commitment.

To get married at All Saints you need to let the Vicar know as soon as possible that you would like to have your wedding at the Church (see contacts page). Always check that the church is available before booking your reception! Weddings are held at All Saints on any day except Sundays, and must be between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.

Each year, the Church holds a Wedding Preparation Day, when you will be able to go through the service, listen to music and sort out your details before the big day. There is also a rehearsal before the wedding. This is usually the second evening before the ceremony so that any last minute issues can be resolved in plenty of time.

HERE ARE SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q

Do we have to be Church members?

A

No, not if you live in the Parish of Thornton Hough, which includes Thornton Hough Village, Raby, Raby Mere, Brimstage and part of Clatterbridge.

Q

What if we live outside the Parish?

A

Please contact the Vicar to discuss the possibilities.

Q What if we live a long way away but have family links with the Parish and/or the Church?

A

Then we can apply for a special licence which will enable you to be married at All Saints.

Q I am a Roman Catholic. Can I be married at All Saints?

A

Yes, if you live in the Parish or are a member of our congregation. If you wish to include any elements of a Roman Catholic ceremony, please discuss this with the Vicar. It may also be helpful to involve family members in your choice of an Anglican church.

Q Only one of us was baptised. Can we still marry in Church?

A

Yes, so long as the other person is willing to accept that the marriage is a Christian marriage and that the promises are made to God.

Q One of us has been married before. Can we get married in Church?

A

Yes, depending on the circumstances. Assuming you are legally divorced, you should contact the Vicar who will interview you both and take a decision.

Q Can we have our reception in the Parish Hall, using outside caterers and saving huge amounts of money?

A

Yes! Please contact our Parish Hall administrator to make a booking (see the contacts page).
