Your Wedding at All Saints

The vows you make are to love and cherish each other for the rest of your lives. Church is the best place to make such an important commitment.

To get married at All Saints you need to ensure that you are entitled to a wedding here, and check that a suitable date is available. We have a wedding booklet that is designed to give you all the information you need at this stage. Weddings may be held at All Saints on any day except Sundays, and should be between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.

Each year, the Church holds a Wedding Preparation Day, for all couples to attend together. There are some lively presentations about married life, as well as an opportunity to listen to wedding music and sort out some practical details. There is also a rehearsal for each wedding, a day or so before the ceremony itself.

SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q

Do we have to be baptised and church members?

A

No, as long as you both recognise that it will be a Christian marriage, and that your vows will be made before God.

Q

What if we live outside the Parish, even a long distance away?

A

Please contact the vicar to discuss the possibilities. It is a little more flexible since changes in the Church of England in 2008.

Q I am a Roman Catholic. Can I be married at All Saints?

A

Yes, if you live in the Parish or are a member of our congregation. If you wish to include any elements of a Roman Catholic ceremony, please discuss this with the vicar. It may also be helpful to involve family members in your choice of an Anglican church.

Q One of us has been married before. Can we get married in Church?

A

Yes, possibly, depending on the circumstances. Assuming you are legally divorced, you should discuss this the vicar who will consider this carefully and in confidence.

Q Can we have our reception in the Parish Hall?

A

Yes! Please contact our Parish Hall administrator to make a booking (see the contacts page). You would need to arrange a catering company separately.
